The cost of veterinarian school has far outpaced the rate of inflation. Meanwhile, there is a boom in supply (that is, vets), and a decline in demand for services.
Fine-needle aspirate of aqueous humor from a geriatric dog with an intraocular mass. There are many black-grey melanin pigment granules free in the background and surrounding bright purple round nuclei from lysed cells. Normal aqueous humor is typically acellular, but may have a few melanin granules or melanin-pigmented cells. Instead, in this aspirate, the melanin was abundant, as were lysed melanocytes. Ocular melanoma was confirmed histopathologically.
